The City of Howell became a Tree City USA community in 1987 and has maintained that status each consecutive year since. As a Tree City USA Community, Howell understands the benefits of TREES and how they improve the quality of life in a community. Trees not only provide the air we breath, but they filter and clean ground water, shade the ground for cooler temperatures, stabilize soils and many, many more benefits. As part of the City’s commitment to Urban Forestry we provide several services to protect, promote and improve the diversity, health and wellness of trees within our community.
