MDOT South Michigan Avenue Resurfacing

This project will consist of resurfacing South Michigan Avenue, between Mason and Grand River. Intermittent side street closures will be required.
Also, as part of the construction, one lane in each direction on South Michigan Avenue, will be closed for 3 days each. Detour routes will be posted during times of lane closures.
MDOT has communicated that construction will begin within the next couple of weeks.
- CSX Rail Crossing Closure -
The CSX main rail crossing (by Thai Summit) on S Highlander Way / McPherson Park Drive, will be closed for maintenance and repair Monday, August 28th at 7 am, for approximately one week. Access to all properties will be maintained as follows:- Properties located north of the rail crossing will be required to use W Grand River to S Highlander Way.- Properties located south of the rail crossing will be required to use Mason to McPherson Park Drive.Drivers shall follow the posted detour route.
- City Council Work Session
The Howell City Council will hold a work session to discuss long term budget issues and the May 2018 Headlee Override election on Monday September 18, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at Howell City Hall, 611 E. Grand River, 2nd Floor Conference Room, Howell, MI 48843, (517) 546-3502.

The reports detail the assets, employer contributions, participant summaries and assumptions/ performance of the plans.
The reports also list the steps the City is taking to decrease its unfunded actuarial accrued liability.
Utility Rate Change
Effective July 1, 2017, based on a study by our utility rate consultant, the City of Howell will be increasing water and sewer rates on average 4.9%. The majority of our customers using a a 5/8"meter will experience an annual increase of $37.80 or $3.15 per month.
