UTILITY BILLING TECHNICIAN

Salary Range:  $18.09 - $22.56 DOQ

The City of Howell is looking for qualified applicants to join our Finance Team.  The full time position of Utility Billing Technician is currently available; competitive salary range being offered with excellent benefit package including Medical, Dental & Vision coverage, Short/Long Term Disability coverage, $50,000 Life Insurance, and retirement under the MERS Defined Benefit Pension System.  Working knowledge of computers, electronic data processing, general office experience with accounting preferred, and excellent customer service skills required.

CITY ASSESSOR - MAAO or MCAO
UPDATED June 5, 2018 

Salary Range:              $61,920 – $70,526/year DOQ                                    

The City of Howell is seeking qualified applicants for the position of full time Assessor.  As the County Seat for Livingston County, the City of Howell is conveniently located east of Lansing, north of Ann Arbor and west of Novi.  The City of Howell is a full service community consisting of 3,849 real & personal parcels with a 2017 SEV of $386,406,793, in an area of approximately 4.7 square miles made up of residential, commerical and industrial properties including a DDA District, IFT properties, and two OPRA properties.  The Assessor performs a variety of routine and complex technical field and office work in the appraisal of property, prepares and maintains the assessment roll, and performs all duties imposed upon municipal assessing officers in accordance with the requirements of the State of Michigan and the Howell City Charter.

State of Michigan Advanced Assessing Officer (MAAO) certification is required or Michigan Certified Assessing Officer (MCAO) with the ability to obtain MAAO within one year of employment.   Starting salary is negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.  The City offers a full benefit package including Medical, Dental & Vision coverage, Short/Long Term Disability coverage, $50,000 Life Insurance, and retirement under the MERS Defined Benefit Pension System.
