Boat Launch
The City boat launch on Thompson Lake is located near the intersection of Lake Street and Roosevelt Street.
Starting May 22nd, all vehicles must have a valid season park sticker or a Day Boat Launch Permit in order to launch their boat, or park in the boat launch area. The boat launch booth will be staffed:
May 22 - Labor Day
Monday - Friday 3 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Saturday/Sunday and Holidays 6 a.m. - 8 p.m.
or any other time deemed necessary by the Parks and Recreation Staff.
Two park passes are given to residents in the City of Howell or Oceloa Township free of charge. Residents in Oceola Township should pick up park pass at their township hall. City of Howell residents may pick up their park pass at City Hall, 611 East Grand River. Residents may purchase additional passes for $15.00.

Residents in Genoa, Marion Township and Non Residents may purchase a day pass or a season pass. Below is the prices for a season pass:

General Rules
- Swimming in this area is prohibited
- Rigging of boats on the launch ramp is prohibited until automobiles have been removed from the ramp.
- Power loading of boats is not permitted.
- The discharge of fuels, chemicals, or sewage into the lake or launch area is prohibited.
- Watercraft operators must have proper license and registration.
- Alcholic beverages are prohibited.
- Please keep the boat launch area clean.
