Business-Friendly Howell, initiative led by the Community Development Committee of the Howell Area Chamber of Commerce, with the cooperation of the City of Howell and the Downtown Development Authority will hold a focus group/feed back session on May 17, 2012 begininng at 7:30 am at the Howell Opera House, 123 W Grand River.
GROUPS INCLUDE:
Businesses in the DDA, Building Owners in the DDA, Mfg. Co. & large employers, Real Estate & Development Reps., City Businesses outside the DDA area, Commercial/Industrial Bldg Owners, and a final open session for any business person.
Contact the Chamber of Commerce at 517-546-3920 for more information and to rsvp for a group/session. Each session will last 1 1/2 hr.
In order to gather honest, valuable information, there will be no representatives from the City or the Chamber at these sessions.
City offices will be CLOSED on Monday, May 28th, in observance of Memorial Day.

PLM Lake & Mgt Corp. has been permitted by the DNR (Department of Natural Resources) to apply treatment for weeds and/or algae to Thompson Lake.
This is tentatively scheduled for May 17th, weather permitting, Thompson Lake will be treated for weeds and/or algae.

Week of May 14th they will begin with bituminous paving(asphalt) on
Swann Court, moving onto the west end of Maple, then to S Tompkins.
NOTE - Driveway installation will be done during the first layer of asphalt

The 2012 Season of the Farmer Market opened, May 6th, 2012.
It will run from 9am - 2pm, throught October 28, 2012.

The City of Howell will begin flushing fire hydrants on May 7th, 2012. This will continue for approximately 3 weeks.
Residents may experience rusty water in these areas. If you do notice rusty water, you will need to run cold water for 10 - 15 minutes, and DO NOT do laundry until the water is clear.
